Otto the lemur is travelling the world on his bicycle and is about to visit his friends Lisa the lynx and Nils, a little bear, in the far north. He is looking forward to seeing his friends again, and painting the northern lights. However on his first night, because he is from the south and his fur is not thick, he almost freezes in the cold. While Otto shelters in the sauna, his friends come up with a genius solution for him, providing him with not only warmth, but a special moments of the northern lights.

This is a lovely picture book celebrating friendship, travelling and knitting! Lisa and Nils are good at solving problems, and their support for their old friend is adorable. The illustrations, created with graphite pencil and acrylic paint on paper, then digitally reworked, are lively and warm.

The narrative of this book is not short and would be perfect for a lap read. This book will be great for curious minds and young audiences will want to learn more about the setting, the northern hemisphere and the northern lights.

Many thanks to Walker Books for supplying this book for review.
