Baz and Benz are best friend. Baz asks Benz if he would still be his friend if he changed colour, had spots, made annoying noises and turned into a bat. Benz answers honestly, but also makes sure to tell Baz he will be his friend forever, no mater what.
This is a simply told story about friendship and unconditional love. Baz and Benz face the audience throughout, two owls sitting on the branches of the same tree. Coloured font denotes the speech of each owl. The illustrations are uncluttered and seem simple, but they are not. Small changes in eyes and wings convey mood and feeling. The end papers reinforce the themes of unconditional love and friendship of this delightful story for little ones. This is a must for a story time audience.
